MPACT missions is a mission group that picks a small town in Texas every summer to be the hands and feet of our Lord -building, fixing and cleaning the town.

MPACT missions is a blessing to all involved for many reasons:

– it provides an opportunity for Texas youth to do real mission work close to home (without the high travel expenses that are involved with going to far away places)

-the people in the town have the opportunity to witness the love of God first hand by either being a missionary or benifiting from their labor

MPACT missions is celebrating their 20th trip this summer and we are so blessed to have them come to Elgin.

They will bring over 350 youth plus adult sponsors to our town June 11 -1 7.

I hope you are as excited as I am and saying to yourself “this is amazing how can I be part of this wonderful experience?”

Of course we need lots of prayer:

These are teenagers doing construction work after all- please pray for everyone’s safety and efficiency.

But you are saying “I want to be part of this wonderful experience – I WANT TO DO SOMETHING “

Our church – First United Methodist Church Elgin and Elgin CHRISTmas Tree Farm are going to host and feed (all 500 people) the first night they are here Saturday June 11.

We really need lots of help and donations.

-But first…. pray for the weather to allow us to do this event for God’s glory (we will have a rain plan just in case).

Before I tell you all the things we need help with let me encourage you to plan to attend this event

– everyone is welcome.

We will have plenty food and there is always room at the farm for anyone who wants to praise God. Imagine being surrounded by 500 christians who have come to this place to serve God and his flock-IT WILL AWESOME. There will be all the farm fun as usual, supper and an amazing worship service.

There is a flier in your bulletin telling ways you can help from donating food items, cash donations and then of course your time and energy. Please let Traci or I know how you would like to help so we can get organized. If you have questions or would like to help other ways during the week please talk to me.

The youth (missionaries ) will be in Elgin June 11 – 17. They will attend Elgin churches Sunday morning June 12- so we will be hosting some of the kids that Sunday morning for church. They will be working around town June 12 – 16 so if you see them- give a friendly wave or stop by and thank them. These are over 350 Christian youth who are paying money to give a week of their summer (right after school gets out) to work for others- Praise God- Like our own Debbie Sandifer says the future is in good hands. The Christians in Elgin need to set the example for them of Grace and Appreciation.

Thank you
